A ‘No Fools Guaranteed’ Look at Some of April 2025’s Game releases on my Radar

A new month is on the horizon, and as copious jesters online make a fool out of every gamer from Nintendo to Sony and beyond, I thought to cut through that, a list of actual games coming out in April 2025 was in order.

No fooling. No nonsense. Just games. Here are some April releases I believe you should have your eyes on (and yes, they are all real).

South of Midnight

Kicking things off later in the month over at Xbox from Compulsion Games, South of Midnight finds the player controlling Hazel, a resident of the American deep south after a vicious Hurricane throws the fictional place of Prospero into disarray. This third-person action adventure title promises challenging puzzles, a riveting story inspired by folklore of the southern US regions, and tops it all off with a unique artsyle, reminiscent of stop motion animation. And hey, you may even pick up a bit of a country twang whilst playing.

South of Midnight releases April 8th, 2025 on Xbox and Xbox Games Pass, and Microsoft Windows.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered

I know, Druckman’s masterclass in character storytelling and third-person thriller-action has been seemingly re-released enough times to challenge Skyrim for the top spot. However, if you are a PC user and have still yet to experience the thrilling conclusion to Naughty Dog’s epic, the you will be able to pick up The Last of Us Part II Remastered on April 3rd, 2025

The Renovator: Origins

A title which certainly snuck past my radar until now, The Renovator: Origins is a psychological, first person horror title by Axyos Games. Playing as a ‘restorer’ who tragically died, work your way through a museum of mysterious exhibits, where each painting contains a story of its creator, and perhaps some paranormal energies…

The Renovator: Origins releases on PS5 and Xbox on April 4th, 2025

Commandos: Origins

Who doesn’t love a good WW2 tactical stealth title? And two video game titles with the word ‘Origins’ in back to back! Commandos: Origins sees the titular title return with an origin story for the play to sleuth around in, uncovering how our gang of soldiers became the team that defeated the axis threat. If you’re a fan of similar titles, this should definitely be on your radar.

The game releases April 9th, 2025 on PS5, Xbox and PC

The Talos Principle: Reawakened

The last thing on my list of ‘games I want remastering’ (Nickelodeon’s Barnyard being at the top of said list) would probably be The Talos Principle: Reawakened, due to the game already looking so beautiful that I could not imagine it any clearer. Well, I was wrong. The stunning visuals have been upgraded to be breathtaking, giving the player a beautiful vista to lose their mind solving puzzles in whilst also philosophising on life itself.. Wonderful.

One of the best to ever do it, The Talos Principle: Reawakened releases on Xbox, PC and PS5 on April 10th, 2025

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

PS5 Indy fans rejoice! Your favourite archaeology teacher (and my personal GOTY for 2024) is coming to your Sony consoles! Take the reigns as Indiana Jones, as he uncovers a secret organisation which may just prove the theory of the existence of The Great Circle…

Indy whips his way onto the PS5 on April 17th, 2025.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

My final pick for April titles is a bit of a curveball for those who know me, and titles such as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 never truly get their hooks in me. However, playing as the leader of Expedition 33, hoping to stop an evil artist from painting works that end the lives of the age she paints? All in a dark fantasy version of France? I just can’t help but be drawn in to such a concept.

The perilous painter can be defeated when Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 arrives on Xbox (including gamepass), PS5 and PC on April 25th, 2025

And there we have it! As promised, no goofs, no fools, just games. There are plenty more titles coming out this month, however the above are just some I will be keeping my hands ready for.

Enjoy the month, and happy gaming!
