Zenless Zone Zero is Zooming onto Xbox
I always find it mildly amusing that, when I finally begin playing through a video game franchise, or title, that some sort of news will drop soon after. Sonic Frontiers was announced when I began my replay through Sonic Unleashed, and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown hopped on platforms whilst I was busy swinging both body and sword on The Forgotten Sands. And now, as I finally crack from the (loving) pressure of my partner to give Zenless Zone Zero a try, it announces its arrival to Xbox.
The HoyoVerse Gachtion (Gacha-Action) game first dropped on PC, Mobile and PS5 in July 2024, looking to promise an experience more similar to Hoyo’s previous title Honkai Impact 3rd than its more popular sibling Genshin Impact. Launching with 50 million worldwide downloads, Hoyo seemingly wished to add to this number with a tease on April 1st showing an Xbox designed Bangboo.
It is not known what Hoyo will choose to discuss in relation to the game. It is no secret the company has replaced two of its voice actors in its most recent patch, of which the actors themselves found out by reading the patch notes (Hoyo did soon after release a statement stating themselves against the use of AI wishing to work with VA’s in ‘the most human way possible’). Or perhaps light will be made at the addition of testicle physics to the cats in the game…no that is not a joke.
We can only hope that this step into Microsoft’s realm will spell good news to all involved with the game, especially those who bring the characters to life. Tune into the xbox spotlight this coming April 11th at 10:00am PDT (April 12 01:00am UTC+8)
